Frances Armstron

She has clients that come from out of state, clients that worked in Virginia's previous administration, city council members, and other members of leadership. I believe that leaders attract leaders. Frances has always been a leader. On social media, people are inspired by her business sense, admire her fashion sense, her humor, and just being herself.

Dernard Lynch

Esquire Barber Shop has been before I was born one the first and oldest black owned business in Newport News. I met Mr. Dernard Lynch the son of Vernard Lynch in my youth. It was one of my first experiences of a black owned business. Mr. Lynch has always been a class act and very supportive of other business owners and local talent. He was by far one of the most influential business owners I ever met. He taught me about business by his actions - punctuality, courteous, and managerial skills. I learned a lot from his stories of his father raising him in the barber shop on 25th Street teaching how to be an entrepreneur. He is the definition of consistency. He be a great person to win!

Zoleka Sparks

Zoleka has been influential as an entrepreneur as well as a philanthropist. She has been influential in various communities for over 25 years and holds the offices of Board President for Dress for Success Hampton Roads and Board President for TinyTownCA in Los Angeles Ca. She continues to assist women in business through business consulting and assisting homeless women and children in Los Angeles CA through the TinyTownCA initiative to transition them into tiny homes.

CLTRE started in a small incubator space inside of an art gallery. During the pandemic they shut down for 5 months, strategized, rebranded and then reopened in a location that pivoted their growth 400%!! They went from a revenue of $50k/annual to over $200k, 6 employees (up from 2) and have continued to show up for community, build awareness around a plant based lifestyle and creating a unique customer experience that focuses on service and bringing out the exotic in others. The owner, Luv is so multi-faceted and amazing with how she shows up for others, especially her employees who are all micro-entrepreneurs!

Dr. Lisa Curry

Curry Dental Center has served the greater Williamsburg community since 2003. Dr. Curry provides implants, laser, sedation and dental services to patients of all ages. In addition she mentors other aspiring dentists, trains interns, financially supports local non profits and serves in her local church. Prior to COVID she provided free dental screenings to WJCC schools Head start students since 2008.

Gabriel Adkins

Mr. Gabriel Adkins has a funeral home business, catering business and income tax business. He strives to serve his community. He holds dinner giveaways, he was involved in organizing several community marches in the wake of the police shooting and killing of Andre Brown. He has served as the second ward city councilman for Elizabeth City for two consecutive terms. Mr. Adkins is a planning member of the economic development and firemans relief board. He has worked in the funeral home business for over fifteen years assisting families in their time of need as they journey through their darkest hour of losing a loved one.

I, Kenyetta started my organization to promote against bullying and low self esteem in little girls and plus size females. I was inspired by her daughter who almost took her life to bullying. Every year I have fashion shows to build self-confidence and little girls and plus size female and let them know that no matter what size you are you are beautiful. During this time the money raised having the shows always go back into the local community whether it is for food bank or community service giving back to families that are less fortunate during the holidays. Kenyetta, takes time out and goes to local schools to talk about self-esteem and bullying issues as well. She has influenced so many young ladies to push beyond low self-esteem and to walk in their purpose. I use my organization as a platform to promote her business and raise awareness about bullying and self-confidence issues. Most recent title 2021 Lifetime Queen of Women Business Leaders and Entrepreneur Pageant in Orlando, Florida is a mentor, Published Author x3, mother of two daughters, licensed EMT and Entrepreneur. I love to motivate and encourage young women on a daily basis. My goal and dream is to one day open up a center to help keep children motivated to follow their goals and dreams. I believe I should be nominated for this award.

Charles Holloway

I am nominating Charles Holloway of the Holloway Experience Real Estate for the Emerging Entrepreneur Award because he continues to thrive within his respective businesses and give back to the community however he can. He is a serial entrepreneur with seven businesses and an emerging non-profit. He is best known in the area for his real estate business, that employs 10 people - 5 realtors, 3 administrators, 1 marketing associate, and 1 event planner. Charles has a proven track record of success in sales and property management. His organization has been named the Top Listings Group and the Top Sales Group in Keller Williams Elite Peninsula for the past few years and was recently ranked as the 2nd Place Recipients of the Platinum Award for the Virginia Peninsula Association of Realtors. Additionally, he is a top-ranking realtor who has received various awards for his leadership and outstanding salesmanship to include, but not limited to, the 2018, 2019, 2020 Platinum Outstanding Salesmanship Ward, the 2020 Diamond Outstanding Award, the 2020 and 2021 Quickest to Cap Award, the 2021 Top GCI Group, and the 2021 Millionaire Real Estate Award. Charles and the Holloway Experience Real Estate are constantly giving back to his community byway of coat, toy, and school supply drives. They also participate in Read Across America events, Habitat for Humanity activities, the Feeding 5000 Giveaway, the Teachers Industry Tour, and much more. Charles is a member of the Keller Williams Black Realtors Network, the Virginia Peninsula Association of Realtors, and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. He is actively involved in his church and mentors the youth. Charles is a husband and father of six. I can think of no better opportunity than for Emerge Premiere to select Charles Holloway as the recipient of the Emerging Entrepreneur Award.
