Esquire Barber Shop has been before I was born one the first and oldest black owned business in Newport News. I met Mr. Dernard Lynch the son of Vernard Lynch in my youth. It was one of my first experiences of a black owned business. Mr. Lynch has always been a class act and very supportive of other business owners and local talent. He was by far one of the most influential business owners I ever met. He taught me about business by his actions - punctuality, courteous, and managerial skills. I learned a lot from his stories of his father raising him in the barber shop on 25th Street teaching how to be an entrepreneur. He is the definition of consistency. He be a great person to win!

I, Kenyetta started my organization to promote against bullying and low self esteem in little girls and plus size females. I was inspired by her daughter who almost took her life to bullying. Every year I have fashion shows to build self-confidence and little girls and plus size female and let them know that no matter what size you are you are beautiful. During this time the money raised having the shows always go back into the local community whether it is for food bank or community service giving back to families that are less fortunate during the holidays. Kenyetta, takes time out and goes to local schools to talk about self-esteem and bullying issues as well. She has influenced so many young ladies to push beyond low self-esteem and to walk in their purpose. I use my organization as a platform to promote her business and raise awareness about bullying and self-confidence issues.
